Yale Law School fired Iranian scholars and accused them of refusing to cooperate as they investigated allegations that the US was involved in a group they called “fake charity” for designated terrorist organizations.

But Helier Dautaghi, an outspoken Israeli critic who worked on visas at Yale University as assistant research scholar and vice-director of the school’s Law and Political Economics Project, denied being uncooperative. As a university across the country, she believes she was fired for criticism of the war in Gaza Faced with financial pressure to crack down on anti-Semitism From the Trump administration.

The school said in a statement that Doutaghi, 30, ended March 28 after refusing to appear on March 28 for several weeks on questions about “serious allegations” that included possible connections with the Samidoun Parestinian Prisoner Solonity Network. specified In October, “a fake charity serving as an international fundraiser for the popular front for Palestine Liberation (PFLP) terrorist organizations.”

Yale cites the post on Samidun’s website and says that she identified Doutaghi as a member of the group in the material it was reviewing. Samidoun did not reply to an email message seeking comment.

However, Doutaghi said that the posts from 2022, when Samidoun was not designated as a support group, were from 2022, and Yale did not produce any evidence that he was involved in such a group.

Another web page listed Doutaghi as a speaker for the October 2024 online panel discussion and was sponsored by Samidoun and other groups. She said she did not attend the event because it was cancelled or postponed, and Samidoon was not the main organizer of the discussion.

The Associated Press asked if she is a member of Samidoun or otherwise affiliated with it, but she simply says she is not involved in a group that violates US law.

Doutaghi and her attorney, Eric Lee, said they offered to answer Yale’s questions about her affiliation in writing. Doutaghi said her concerns about being detained and deported were factors that she didn’t want to show up in person.

“This has become part of the fascism that is unfolding in this country, and we must expect that those who dare to oppose genocide and the US support for it and accomplices will pay the price along with their careers. As we saw in Colombia, we must obtain their work, their degree, and their work, as we saw in Colombia, and their degree with their work, and their work.
