The announcement comes after Hamas said he would suspend the release of prisoners of war, citing Israel’s ceasefire violation.

Yemen’s Houthis announced it is ready to attack Israel if it revives its ceasefire contract with Hamas and resumes its attack on Gaza.

Prime Minister Abdel Malik Al Haucci said in a speech aired on Tuesday that the group is “ready to launch military intervention at any time in the event of an escalation against Gaza.”

“Our hands are on the trigger,” he said.

The Houtis, which controls most of Western Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, launched an attack during the Gaza War, which stated solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

Since November 2023, the group has carried out over 100 attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea, launching missiles and drones at Israel. He said it would limit the attack after Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire contract aimed at ending the war last month.

However, the fragile trade is still the first of three phases, feeling increasingly shaking amid repeated violations of Israeli terms.

The first phase of the deal includes swaps of prisoners, partial withdrawal of Israeli forces, and a surge in aid to enclaves. The second phase, although details have not yet been agreed, will bring a complete end to the war. The final third phase is intended to address the reconstruction of the devastating Palestinian enclave.

On Monday, Hamas said it would halt the release of Israeli prisoners of war against violations. He said he did not allow killings, restrictions to allow the injured to leave Gaza for treatment, and sufficient assistance. The group said it will continue to respect the terms of the contract if Israel falls into compliance.

The situation swirled even further, US President Donald Trump said on Saturday he would propose cancelling the armistice and “broken hell” if all Israeli prisoners were not released by noon.

Hamas official Sami Abu Zuri responded to Trump’s comments and emphasized that the ceasefire must be respected by both parties. “The language of threats is worthless and only complicates the problem,” he said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated the threat from Trump on Tuesday, saying in a video statement that the military would “return to a fierce battle until Hamas is ultimately defeated.”

After a four-hour cabinet meeting, Israeli leaders also said they had ordered Israeli forces to gather “in and out of the Gaza Strip.”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had already instructed the military to prepare to the highest level in Gaza.

So far, Gaza’s Ministry of Health has confirmed that 48,219 Palestinians have died in the war, destroying the infrastructure of the enclave, expelling the majority of the population, and creating humanitarian figures. It was left on the brink of a catastrophe.
