The group also claims they fired down a US MQ-9 drone in Governor Hajiha’s airspace.

The US strike in Yemen’s Sanaa province killed six people and injured more than a dozen other injuries, Houthi Media said.

Houthi-Afiliated Al Masirah News reported on Sunday that it also targeted the Al-Yatmah region of Khub and Al-Sha’af districts of Al-Jawf in northern Yemen.

In another statement Sunday evening, the group said that a US MQ-9 drone had been shot down in Hajiha province airspace by locally-built ground-air-inter-air missiles. The US has not commented on this.

The region owned by Houthi in Yemen has seen Washington become fatal to the United States since March 15th when it launched an air campaign against the group, forcing it to stop threatening vessels on major maritime routes.

Dozens of Yemen have been killed in the latest US strike. Civilians were targeted, families were wiped out, military sites were destroyed, soldiers were killed.

Houthis began targeting ships passing through the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Israeli territory after halting the attack during the January ceasefire after the Gaza War broke out in October 2023.

Israel cut all supplies to Gaza at the beginning of March and resumed attacks on Palestinian territory on March 18th, ending a short-lived ceasefire. Since then, Houthis has launched attacks targeting US ships and Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians.

The group on Sunday argued responsibility for missiles fired at military bases at the Israeli port city of Ashdod and Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv. Sirens can be heard in Jerusalem at around 6:16pm local time (15:16 GMT).

Israeli forces said they believe they have been successful in intercepting incoming missiles.

Houthis supported the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas, and repeatedly pledged to halt military operations if the ceasefire comes into effect.
