YouTube launches new shopping product stickers for shorts

YouTube is updating its shorts shopping experience, the company announced Wednesday. The platform is launching new shopping product stickers that allow viewers to easily know that the products used for short are available for shopping.

New stickers could be a way for creators to increase their revenue. During testing last month, YouTube discovered that shorts with stickers from shopping products clicked more than 40% of the product on the product than shorts on the shopping button.

Previously, tagged products featured a shopping button on a banner in the bottom left corner of the shorts. Clicking on the banner opens a list of products available for viewers to view and shop.

Now creators can tag short products and automatically generate stickers based on the first product they tag. You can then adjust the size and placement of the sticker.

If multiple products are tagged short, viewers can tap the downward arrow on the sticker to view the full list of products. Clicking on a product of interest will redirect you to the retailer’s website for that product.

Shopping product stickers will be rolled out over next week and will be available globally as expected in Korea, but YouTube is expected to start feature soon.

YouTube CEO Neal Mohan revealed at Cannes Lions 2025 that shorts currently average over 200 billion viewing every day. Mohan also shared that Google’s VEO 3 video generator, which can generate both video and audio, will be coming to Shorts later this summer.
