The Ukrainian president says it’s “not very comfortable” to call Putin before Trump told him.

Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky says the US should agree to a joint plan to stop Russia’s war before beginning peace talks with the Kremlin.

After making a 90-minute call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, President Donald Trump said he hopes to meet Saudi Arabia’s Russian leaders for talks to end the war. Ta.

On Thursday, Zelensky told reporters in Ukraine that it was “not very comfortable” that Trump called Putin before he spoke to him, and that the US president wanted to talk to him along with both leaders. He added.

The Ukrainian leader, who is scheduled to meet US Vice President JD Vance in Munich on Friday, said he hopes to criticize the US for “plans to stop Putin” before the armistice takes place.

“We, as a sovereign nation, would not be able to accept the agreement without us,” Zelensky added.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that Ukraine will take part in all talks “in some way” to end the war, but separate US-Russia talks are on track, Russian state news agency said. The agency reported.

“A simple fix is a dirty deal.”

At a NATO meeting in Brussels on Thursday, the Ukrainian defense minister assured his country’s supporters that Kiev would stand strong against Russia.

European officials also hold strict public boundaries towards Trump’s overture to peace, and unless they and the Ukrainians are included in the negotiations, the peace agreement is not possible. He says there is.

In a dull speech to reporters in a NATO talk, European Union foreign policy director Kaha Karas blamed Washington for a “reconciliation” with Russia, so the “behind our back” deal “will not work” He insisted.

“We shouldn’t remove anything from the table before negotiations begin, to play in the Russian courts. That’s what they want,” she said. “A simple fix is a dirty deal. It simply doesn’t work.”

Antonio Costa, who heads the Council of Europe, representing 27 EU countries, warned that “peace is not a simple ceasefire.”

“Russia is no longer a threat to Ukraine, Europe or international security,” Costa said.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegses, who also attended the NATO meeting in Brussels, denied that Trump’s plans were a betrayal of Kiev’s three-year war effort against Russia.

“There’s no betrayal there. There’s a perception that the whole world and the United States are invested and interested in peace,” the Pentagon chief said.

“Undoubtedly, no one would allow President Trump to turn his uncle Sam into a ‘uncle sucker’,” he said.

Heggs also rejected the idea that the new Washington administration was hampering NATO or Europe’s security.

“NATO is a great alliance and the most successful defence alliance in history, but to endure for the future, partners must do much more to defend Europe. NATO “We have to make it great again,” he said.
