Police responding to bomb threats clarifies pro-Palestinian protesters who occupy Bernard College Library

NEW YORK (AP) – The Bernard College library was evacuated Wednesday. Police responded to the bomb threat during a sit-in staged by pro-Palestinian protesters.

The New York Police Department said on Twitter X that a bomb threat was reported at the Milstein Center at Upper Manhattan College, which serves as a hub for academic life on campus.

“Our academic mission is at the heart of what we do, and the confusion in that mission is a humiliation for the purpose of higher education and cannot be tolerated,” she wrote in a message sent to the campus community. “We must not allow some actions that interfere with our mission. We are proceeding as normal throughout campus activities other than Milstein and the rest of the campus.”
