Disney highlights the link between film, parks and technology
The SXSW session on Disney’s “The Future of World Building” met the promise of special guest with the appearances of “The Mandalorian” creator John Favreau, Pixar’s chief creative officer and Pete Entertainment president Kevin Feige, and “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr.
They appeared alongside Imagineer, who creates rides at Disney’s theme parks, and used Stage Time to highlight upcoming attractions portrayed from Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel movies and shows. (Sometimes, inspiration can go in the opposite direction, droids are built for the park, and can also appear in the upcoming film The Mandalorian & Grogu.)
Downey compares Imagineer to superhero characters Tony Stark/Iron Man (a role that was renamed in both “Avengers: Infinity Defense” and “Stark Flight Lab”), praises “a drive to put something good in the world” and “minimal, more fun.”
