At least 404 people, including many children, have been killed as Israel resumes its attack on Gaza.
Israeli fighters launched a massive attack across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday morning, killing at least 404 people, including many children, and wounding many others.
If many people remain under the tiled ble of a shelled building, the death toll could rise.
The Israeli attack crushed a fragile, two-month ceasefire with Hamas, which began on January 19th.
The Israeli attacks targeted various regions across the Gaza Strip from north to south, including Jabaria, Beit Hanoon, Gaza City, Nuseirat, Deia El Bara, Khan Yunis and Rafa. Areas designated as safe humanitarian belts, including the Almawasi zone, were also attacked.

Israeli military issues forced evacuation orders
In a statement on X, Arabic spokesman for the Israeli military, Avichay Adraee, ordered residents in the following sectors to “evacuate immediately,” saying the neighborhood would become a “dangerous battle zone.”
Beit Hanoon Khirbet Khuza’a abasan al-kabira abasan al-jadida
Adrie said civilians in these areas should head to the shelter in western Gaza city or Khan Yunis.
Israel killed more than 170 people during the “ceasefire”
On January 15th, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on a three-stage ceasefire agreement to stop the more than 460-day war that devastated Gaza.
The contract, which came into effect on January 19, included the destruction awarded to Gaza, the release of prisoners of war in Gaza in exchange for the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, and a ceasefire to stop displaced Palestinians from returning to their homes.
However, Israel violated multiple ceasefires from January 19 to March 17, killing at least 170 people in Gaza, nearly three times a day.
Gaza authorities have documented more than 350 violations by Israel, including military intrusions, gunfights, air raids, increased surveillance and obstruction of aid.
Humanitarian aid has stopped
The attack came on Gaza’s deepening humanitarian crisis.
On March 2, Israel thwarted all humanitarian assistance in Gaza after the first phase of the ceasefire expired and cut off food, medicines and fuel.
This raised global condemnation, and European countries warned that the blockade could violate international humanitarian law. The humanitarian condition worsened as aid trucks were stuck outside Gaza, increasing the risk of hunger and malnutrition.
The latest attack takes place later in the Holy Month of Muslims in Ramadan.
More than 60,000 people have been killed and 112,000 injured
Gaza’s health ministry reports that at least 48,577 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing war with Gaza, and 112,041 confirmed wounded. This means that one in 50 people in Gaza was killed and one in 20 injured.
On February 3, the government’s media office updated the death toll to over 61,700, pointing out that thousands of Palestinians were estimated to have died under the roof rub.
During the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, 1,139 people were killed and more than 200 were taken prisoner.
