Trump administration suspends dozens of research grants at Princeton University

WASHINGTON (AP) – Trump administration has suspended dozens of federations Research grants At Princeton University, an Ivy League school said Tuesday.

According to a campus message from Princeton’s Christopher Eyesgluber, the university received notification this week that subsidies have been suspended by agents, including the Department of Energy, NASA and the Department of Defense.

The rationale wasn’t entirely clear, but Princeton would follow the law, Eyesgoober said.

“We are committed to combating anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination, and we will work with the government in combating anti-Semitism,” he writes. “Princeton also vehemently defends the academic freedom and due process rights at this university.

Princeton is the latest Ivy League school to threaten federal funds by the Trump administration amid a survey of campus anti-Semitism. Columbia University this month I agreed to some requests After subtracting $400 million from the federal government and threatening to cut billions more.

The Federal Task Force on Anti-Semitism announced on Monday that Harvard is facing “Comprehensive Review” Nearly $9 billion in federal grants and contracts. Princeton is one of more than 100 universities that have conducted public investigations into anti-Semitism or Islamophobia following a wave of pro-Palestinian protests.

The federal government is the leading provider of income for American universities through scientific research grants.
