ICC Belfast strengthened its team by appointing Jill Frahan as head of corporate sales, along with promotions to Laurel Gray’s event manager and Laurel Gray’s to association sales manager.
Houlahan brings extensive commercial sales experience, but Gray, who has been with ICC Belfast since 2016, will provide a new perspective to the event industry through her international network and involvement in initiatives such as AIPC Future Shapers.
With a background in the local major hotel group for eight years at the venue, Jennyau is passionate about the mouse industry and played a key role in securing ICC Belfast’s successful bid to host one young world in 2023.
On this Global Meeting Industry Day (April 3), the appointees will discuss some of the emerging trends in the world of large events.
Regarding AI and personalization, Yau said: “AI is a game changer in so many sectors. Of course, it’s also a hot topic in the event industry. AI offers enhanced personalization by shaping the event experience around individual participants.”
Houlahan said, with the growing capacity within the company: “The convention center has the unique advantages of providing in-house expertise, specialized skills and cutting-edge technology. By leveraging our strengths in these areas, we can streamline the planning process, collaborate seamlessly and remove unnecessary complexity for our organization.”
Regarding the power of sustainability, Gray said: “Beyond Green’s orders, we focus on social heritage and we were fortunate to be involved in a female student leadership development program called Sistersin.
Houlahan added about Bleisure and incentives: “It’s really important to bring people to Belfast. It’s not just about seeing the city, it’s about truly experiencing it. It’s still surprising and delighted to hear representatives talk about the warmth of hospitality and welcoming in Northern Ireland.
