New York, New York, April 3, 2025, Chain Wire

Moves beyond Layer 2 via native parallel execution with proof of work (POW)

Kadena, an industry leader in Scalable Blockchain Technology, has announced ChainWeb EVM by adding 20 EVM compatible chains to its multi-chain network.

ChainWeb EVM places Cadena as a decentralized alternative to Ethereum Layer 2 with zero gas fees, infinite scalability, and energy-efficient proof of work security. Cadena takes a unique approach to scaling by leveraging native parallelization for high-throughput execution and processing. Their horizontal scaling network can add new chains to absorb fluctuations in demand.

Builders can use Solidity Smart Contracts to deploy and scale Dapps and leverage EVM tools natively, while benefiting from Cadena’s scalable, affordable, distributed Layer 1 infrastructure.

The ChainWeb EVM initiative has attracted interest from hundreds of builders who have signed up for exclusive early access on Ethdenver, earning their first chance to roll out on-chain. The initiative, in line with Cadena’s $50 million grant, will support AI development that drives chainweb EVM buildings, real-world assets tokenization, and ecosystem growth.

Kadena co-founder and CEO Stuart Popejoy commented on ChainWeb EVM’s vision and cited his enthusiasm for build-out.

“To be at the forefront of this project with my co-founder Will (Martino), has been the only biggest initiative in Cadena since its inception. We consider ChainWeb EVM to be the world’s long-term settlement platform, from trading in the stock market to e-commerce payments. The traditional parallel chain of Cadena,” Popeyoi said.

About Cadena

Founded in the US by Stuart Popejoy in 2016, it was founded by Will Martino, creator of JP Morgan’s first blockchain and leader of the SEC’s Crypto Committee. Kadena offers industry-leading performance as proof of the only scalable Layer 1 work blockchain. Kadena’s innovative approach combines energy efficiency with unparalleled scalability to make it an ideal infrastructure for mass adoption. With its pioneering smart contract language agreements, Kadena offers the tools to build safe, efficient, and developer-friendly blockchain applications that meet real needs.
