Arsenal held Champagne, which won Liverpool’s Premier League title, on the ice, just as they were held in a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool are on the verge of winning the Premier League title after Arsenal was tied for a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace.

Arne Slot’s side was watching in anticipation of Arsenal’s defeat on Wednesday, which would have secured Liverpool’s record 20th British title.

They didn’t want to start a party yet, but Liverpool is certainly showing up to lift the trophy for the first time since 2020 after the late equalizer of Palace at Gian Philippe Mateta at Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool is 12 points ahead of second-place Arsenal. He only has four games left compared to his leader’s +44, and his goal difference of +34 is inferior.

With five games remaining, the Reds are guaranteed to match the 20 titles Manchester United won with their bitter rivals if they avoid a loss against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

The champagne remains on the ice for the men in the slots, but it’s only a matter of time before Liverpool finishes their relentless march to the title after their third draw in the final four league games.

Jakub Kiwior advanced the gunners early, but Eberechi Eze became equal for the palace.

Leandro Trossard recovered Arsenal’s advantages before halftime, but Mateta came out of the bench and bagged the sublime leveler with seven minutes left.

Arsenal delayed the Liverpool celebration by routing Ipswich 4-0 on Sunday. The Gunners and Reds’ victory over Leicester would have ended the title race.

Mikel Arteta’s team once again waited for Liverpool for a few days longer, but their real focus was already in the clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Arsenal will make its first Champions League appearance in the final four times since holding the French club in its first leg in 2009.

Arteta had insisted that his stars would not rest against the palace to protect them for the PSG showdown.

However, he chose to leave Bukayo Saka on the bench after the English winger stepped into a foul from Ipswich’s Rafe Davis last weekend, after Mikel Merino and Ben White were not suitable for the feature.

Oliver Glasner started without key forward Mateta and Ismaila Sar as the Palace faces the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday against Aston Villa.

Arsenal appeared to be set up to take advantage of the distractions of Wembley at the palace when we went before just three minutes later.

Arsenal set-piece coach Nicholas Joeber was another success as he scored from a dead ball routine he worked on for the Premier League, which will lead the 16th time this season.

Martin Odegard whipped a free kick into the palace area, leaving Kiwiall completely unmarked, using the header from 12 yards past Dean Henderson.

The Polish defender’s first league goal since February 2024 was followed by the palace equalizer as David Raya saved Daniel Muños’ volley from a sharp angle.

So, Arsenal, which was turned on when attacking from the set piece, was caught from one when the palace equalized in the 27th minute.

Adam Wharton chose an unmarked Eze at the edge of the area, and English midfielder Agile Volley left the post after passing the unseemly Raya.

Torosad returned Arsenal to the front in the 42nd minute as the Belgians managed to get a pass from Julientimber and cleverly avoid two palace defenders before a 12-yard palace defender.

Arteta took the risk by sending Saka for the past 30 minutes, but it was the palace that was attacking, as Justin Devenee’s header was turned over by Raya.

Henderson made a great save to push Saka’s Valley, and Palace used the escape to snatch an 83-minute equalizer.

William Saliba carelessly granted ownership, and Mateta tipped a great finish at Raya, out of position from 30 yards, leaving Liverpool in an emotional distance from the title.
