The ID, an Experiential Events Agency, helped to provide the official VE Day Bank holiday procession in London.

Working with the Culture, Media and Sports departments, Identity provided strategic event management, complete overlays of temporary structures, logistics monitoring, public safety planning, and operational management of commemorative activities for the day.

More than 1,300 members of the military, uniformed services and youth organization participated in the ritual procession that began at Parliament Square at noon.

The event began with a live reading of Winston Churchill’s historic 1945 speech before the iconic passage of the Federal War Tombs Committee for Peace, from young people to 100-year-old Normandy veteran Alan Kennett.

The procession led by the cavalry regiments of the household cavalry and the royal horse artillery traveled through the Cenotauf, through the arches of the Naval headquarters, along the mall along Buckingham Palace. It followed a heart-pounding exhibit of memory and intergenerational tributes, along with marchers from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army and royal troops, along with cadets and youth groups.

Under the jealousy of King Charles III and King Camilla, other members of the royal family, located in front of Queen Victoria Memorial, were joined and the queues were seen along with Prime Minister Kiel.

Veterans supported by Royal British Legions and members of the masses lined up at the mall to pay their respects. The memorial concluded with a spectacular flypast with red arrows and 23 current and historic aircraft.

Nationally, it is encouraged to host VE Day 80 street parties and gatherings as part of the Great British Food Festival, a community initiative led by The Together Coalition and The Big Lunch.

“We’re committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Michael Gietzen, CEO of Identity. “It was an honor and privilege to carry out the official bank holiday queue on this historic occasion. Our team is extremely proud to be part of this national moment.”
