On Tuesday, Google announced it was launching a new experimental app for Windows. It is designed to help people find what they need faster. This app allows you to instantly search information from your computer files, installed apps, Google Drive files, and the web using the ALT+Space shortcut.

The search bar is similar to Spotlight Search on Macs, allowing users to quickly find something on their devices or the web.

The new app is available from Search Labs, Google’s experimental program that can test early-stage features and provide feedback before it is widely released.

Google points out that the app has built-in Google lenses. This means you can select and search something on the screen to quickly translate images and text, get mathematics homework, and more. Users can get a deeper response in Google’s AI mode. This allows users to ask complex multipart questions via the AI interface.

Users have the option to toggle between all results, AI modes, images, shopping, videos and more. There is also an option to switch to dark mode.

The new app is available in English, and US users require a Windows 10 or later PC.
