Wisconsin voters narrow down the field of top education candidates

MADISONS, Wisconsin (AP) – Voters on Tuesday were casting votes to narrow down the field Three-way race For top education jobs in battlefield Wisconsin, during President Donald Trump’s second term, they are at the forefront of a national battle for school fundraising.

The top two voters will advance to the general election on April 1st.

Wisconsin is the only state where voters choose the best education officers, but there is no state board of education. This will give those running the Ministry of Public Leadership a broader authority to oversee education policies, including spreading money across schools and managing teacher licenses.

Anyone who wins must manage Wisconsin’s relationship with the Trump administration. Eliminating the Federal Department of Education, It supports approximately 14% of public school budgets nationwide, with an annual budget of $79 billion.

The Wisconsin Education Association Council, a statewide coalition of teachers, did not support candidates in the primary election. The union’s political action committee recommended that Wright be approved.

Wright is approved by the Wisconsin Association of School Administrators and the Middleton Cross Plains Teachers Union.
