At least 59 people, including children, have been killed in barrages of Israeli attacks throughout the besieged Gaza Strip, medical sources told Al Jazeera.
Rescue teams and doctors at the enclave said at least 12 people from the same family were among those killed on Thursday when their home in Jabaria in northern Gaza was targeted.
Six members of another family (the couple and four children) were killed when they leveled their homes in Gaza city, civil defense said in a statement.
Gaza city’s first responder, Ahmed Aral, said there were “a large number of body parts and bodies” that included many children after the attack.
“There are only hands, feet and heads. They’re all cut and torn,” Arar told Al Jazeera.
A statement from an Indonesian hospital where the victim was found that 10 more people were killed and several others were injured in a strike at a former police station in the Jabaria region of northern Gaza.
“Everyone started running because of the fear and harshness of the bombing, not knowing what to do,” said Abdel Kadel Saba, 23, from Jabaria.

Israeli forces said they attacked what was called the “Order and Control Centre” in Hamas in the Jabaria region, but made clear whether they were targeting police stations. The Army has previously used similar justifications in attacks where hospitals and numerous shelters hit numerous shelters living in Palestinian families.
At least 26 people have been killed in other Israeli attacks across the territory, according to medical professionals and civil defense agencies.
Reported by Deir El-Balah, Tareq Abu Azzoum of Al Jazeera said there was a “ongoing surge in the speed of Israeli attacks on the entire Gaza Strip.”
He said at the scene of the latest attack in Jabaria, civil defense crews are still working to dig into the tile ble.
He quoted a rescuer saying many of the victims were burned.
“Biger” attack?
Israel resumed its military attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18th, ending a two-month ceasefire that temporarily halted combat on blocked territory.
The military has been sealing critical border crossings for eight consecutive weeks, denying the entry of much-needed humanitarian assistance, including medical supplies and fuel, and exacerbating the already deep humanitarian crisis amid relentless artillery fire.
The Israeli army chief visited Gaza troops on Thursday and threatened a “larger” attack if prisoners were seized in a Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
“If there is no progress in the revival of hostages in the near future, we will expand our activities to larger and more important operations,” Eyal Zamir said.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces ordered Palestinians living in the north of Beit Hanoon and Sheikh Zayd to be evacuated before the attack.
The UN warns that Israel’s growing evacuation orders across Gaza are growing, leading to “forced relocation” to areas where people are constantly flowing.
Aid agencies estimate that the majority of Gaza’s 2.4 million residents have been evacuated at least once since the war began.
Also on Thursday, the Gaza Health Ministry said Dura Children’s Hospital in Gaza was unoperated the day after an Israeli strike hit the top of the building, causing damage to intensive care units and destroying the facility’s solar panel system.
Gaza’s health system has been devastated by Israel’s 18-month military campaign, with many territorial hospitals not taking action, killing medical care and reducing critical supplies.
The efforts of Qatar and Egypt, the leading US-backed mediators, have so far failed to create a lasting ceasefire.
At least 1,978 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel resumed its attacks, bringing the overall death toll to at least 51,355 since October 2023.
The military said Thursday that the Israeli tank fire killed a UN worker in Der Elbara in central Gaza last month, according to the initial findings of the investigation.
Initially, on March 19, a Bulgarian employee of the United Nations Project Services (UNOPS) had refused to work in the area where the killing occurred.
The findings come after the military reported on another investigation into killing 15 Palestinian emergency workers in Gaza on Sunday.
Ultimately, the field commander admitted that operational failures led to their deaths, and said it would be rejected.
