VisitBritain’s The Business Events Growth Program officially resumed on 25/26.
VisitBritain Business Events Growth Program is a strategic initiative that supports the appeal and development of international business events in the UK.
The programme includes support for candidates’ city bidding for potential new association parliaments working in collaboration with UK cities, and growth funding for international representatives for B2B exhibitions working with confirmed parliaments and cities and organizers.
The event will be in the national priority sectors of healthcare and life sciences, technology, creative services, advanced manufacturing, energy transition and education.
Between 2018 and 2023, the program supported 62 potential or confirmed events in 18 UK cities, generating direct economic revenue of £45.5 million and a 33:1 ROI.
This has continued to be strengthened over the past two years (23/24-24/25), with 65 more events being supported in 12 cities, with ratings pending after most events have taken place.
The application must be evaluated by an independent panel of experts and comply with grant management rules. Additionally, it includes detailed evidence of sustainability measures such as public transport use, local procurement and environmental mitigation plans to work at venues.
The program also outlines broader impact indicators through eight capitals: human, social, intellectual, financial, cultural, constructed, political and natural, using the VisitBritain Be-Impactful Framework for applicants.
