Distortion Studios is partnering with Myworld on the Temple Quarter Research Hub, known as “The Sheds,” a space owned by Bristol University, to develop new works in virtual production.

As part of the partnership, Distortion Studios will support Sheds’ virtual production studios with consulting and production help. They aim to make virtual production more accessible and collaborative, while strengthening Bristol’s role in the industry.

Distortion is working with MyWorld in a research project to investigate how volume capture can be used in virtual production.

Jonathan Brigden, managing director of Distortion Studios, commented. This partnership is a very exciting step for us. It’s about showing what happens when two great Bristol teams join forces. Bristol is a regional hub of great importance to the film and television industry, and we are building a centre of creative technology excellence here in the southwest. Here in Bristol, there is a lot of talent, energy and creativity. It was already a joy to work with the Myworld team, so I feel it’s right to make it official. We are proud to be part of something that helps our city shine brighter. ”

Oscar De Mello of MyWorld said: “We are proud to partner with Distortion Studios, an internal expertise that supports Distortion’s vision for creativity, experimentation and technical excellence.
