Humanity aims for Openai and offers Claude to “all three branches of the government” for $1

Openai announced that Agention Agention will provide ChatGpt Enterprises to the entire federal enforcement sector workforce for $1 a year. AI Giant said Tuesday that it will not only offer its Claude model to government agencies for just $1, but also provide it not just government agencies. Humanity targets “all three branches” of the US government, including its legislative and judicial branches.

The package is available for one year, says humanity.

The move comes after Openai, Humanity and Google Deepmind were added to the list of General Services Bureaus of Authorized AI Vendors that can sell services to private federal agencies. TechCrunch contacted Google to see if it plans to address humanity’s challenges and Openai’s challenges.

Escalation of humanity – response to Openai’s attempts to weaken competition – is a strategic play aimed at expanding the company’s foothold in the use of federal AI.

“We believe that the US public sector should have access to the most advanced AI capabilities to tackle complex challenges, from scientific research to component services,” Humanity said in a statement. “By combining a wide range of accessibility and uncompromising security standards, we ensure that AI is useful in the public interest.”

Humanity provides both Claude for businesses and Claude for government. The latter supports Fedramp High Workloads, allowing federal workers to use Claude to handle sensitive, uncategorized work.

Fedramp High is a strict security baseline within the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FEDRAMP) for processing uncategorized confidential government data.

Humanity also provides technical support to help institutions integrate AI tools into their workflows, according to the company.

Humanity, along with Openai, Xai and Google, has been granted up to $200 million by the Department of Defense to leverage AI for national security, but AI companies clearly want to integrate it into a wider range of government jobs, including scientific research and health services. In a press release, Humanity pointed out that Claude is already in use at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to accelerate scientific discoveries, and that by the District of Columbia Department of Health, it will help residents access health services in multiple languages.

Humanity says that Claude can “fulfil the highest government security standards” and so can do such a deployment. Not only is it certified as FedRamp High, it also allows customers to access Claude through their existing secure infrastructure, through partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud and Palantir, giving them more control over their data.

Anthropic’s Multicloud access could give it in competition with Openai. Although Azure is widely adopted by governments, some government agencies and security teams may prioritize data sovereignty, infrastructure management, and the operational flexibility offered by multi-cloud strategies.

However, Openai is actively working to reduce its dependence on Azure so that it can embrace a more diverse infrastructure approach.
