Jill Kit will roll out its latest testnet, Garfield, starting the week of February 24th, 2025. This upgrade introduces full support for all Cancun Opcodes, prepares you for a Pectra upgrade, and offers a high-performance playbar that can prove all your blocks more efficiently.
Garfield Testnet: Progress of Ethereum Scaling
Garfield TestNet will serve as a key test site for Pectra-related updates set for the Jillkit Mainnet integration in March 2025. Important improvements include:
Full Cancun Opcode Support – Developers can take advantage of the latest Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) extensions for building and testing applications. Pectra Compatibility – Garfield is configured to accommodate Pectra as it comes with activation in a seamlessly enhanced prover of Ethereum, a new, more powerful prover that can validate all blocks and enhance speed and scalability. Testing Proven Clusters – Garfield enables rigorous optimization and evaluation of Jill Kit’s certification infrastructure. EIP-7702 Preparation – The testnet is equipped with the EIP-7702, with target updates planned in the coming days.
New networks, fresh setup is required
Garfield is a brand new network with no history of previous testnets. Developers need to update their configuration, such as new chain IDs and RPC endpoints. The testnet features a dedicated bridge front end and a block explorer.
All related details will be published in the official documentation prior to launch.
Migration Plan: Current Testnet Sundown
The existing Jilts Testnet will be setting sundown on May 31, 2025. Users must withdraw their Sepolya ETH or Testnet assets prior to migration. The escape hatch will be active before sunset and will be available for withdrawals after May 31, 2025.
Garfield updates will be available on Ziccott Mainnet
Zircuit will implement an update to the mainnet Garfield in March 2025 ahead of the activation of Pectra’s Ethereum MainNet. This transition occurs seamlessly and requires no expected downtime or user action.

Mainnet extensions: RPC faster, Explorer upgrades, and improved bridges
Alongside Garfield, Zircott has introduced significant improvements.
New RPC endpoints – Improve stability for fast, low latency RPC services. The current endpoint remains active, but users are encouraged to migrate. Enhanced Block Explorer – Sourcify Integration provides easier smart contract verification and greater transparency. Remodeled Bridges – The withdrawal process has been streamlined and further optimizations are planned. Escape Hatch Deployment – The escape hatch feature connects to Testnet 1.0 before sunset, ensuring permanent, decentralized, unauthorized withdrawal if the sequencer is unavailable. MainNet will come equipped with this feature immediately after testing.
