Stabbing a suspect arrested at the University of Virginia makes the victim in danger

CHARLOTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — A stinging suspect was arrested Thursday on the University of Virginia campus, with one person being taken to hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

Police on the Charlottesville campus responded to a report of the stab wound and sent an emergency warning, saying the suspect had been escaped on foot. A while later, police said the male suspect was taken into custody and the shelter was lifted on the spot. Daily progress has been reported The suspect was arrested safely.

Spokesman Eric Swenson said in an email that one person was taken to UVA Health University Medical Center. University spokesman Bethany Glover said the victim was in danger as of Thursday night. Neither Swenson nor Glover designated the victim’s injuries.

Glover said the suspect was a middle-aged white man and both the suspect and the victim had no knowledge of his relationship with the university.

Charlottesville Police are handling investigations of “attacks” that occurred within the city’s jurisdiction, Glover said.

This week we marked the university’s second shelter. On Tuesday, police searched for suspects involved in the traffic stop and were believed to have since fled the area.
