Northern Ireland Tourism announced the appointment of new CEO Laura McCoury MBE in September 2025.
McCorry will take over from current CEO John McGrillen. He announced he would resign from his role at the end of July, following his 153rd opening at the Royal Portrush in February. McGrillen has been in the role for 10 years.
Currently head of Hillsboro Castle, McCoury holds a variety of strategic leadership roles both locally and internationally. These include the Public Director of the National Museum of Northern Ireland and the Director of Product Development for Tourism in Northern Ireland.
She is also a member of the Tourism Partnership Committee and a board member of Tourism Ireland.
Speaking about her new role, McCorry said: “Tourist NI is a great organization with a passionate team and is excited to work together to grow the tourism economy in a way that benefits both the community, businesses and visitors.”
Elbena Graham, chairman of the NI Tourism Board, said: “Laura brings extensive experience in tourism industry leadership, and her expertise will guide Tourism NI with ambitious plans that support the Minister’s tourism vision and plan of action.”
Northern Ireland Tourism, a non-sectoral public institution in the sector of the Economic NI, is responsible for the development of tourism in Northern Ireland, supporting the tourism industry and selling the region as a tourist destination across the island of Ireland.
