Ukevents announces a new executive committee

Ukevents confirmed the new executive committee following the full partner meeting in February.

The committee will focus on strengthening engagement with policymakers and leveraging new relationships that have been forged at recent Congressional House exhibitions.

It will also guide Ukevents’ efforts to recognize the £61.6 billion contribution to the UK’s events industry economy, ensuring that its role is firmly incorporated into government policy debates.

The committee aims to build on recent momentum with a new focus on advocacy and strategy and drive meaningful actions that support growth across the sector.

The agreed roles of the new Executive Committee are:

Chair: Glenn Bowdyn Past Chair: Chris Case O’ of Vice Chair – Treasurer: Vice Chair Tom Clements – Member Secretary: Vice Chair Susan Tanner – Policy/Strategy Lead: Vice Chair Andrew Harrison – Reed Advocacy and Government Relations: David Trenmill Advocacy and Government Relations Joint Lead

Glenn Bowdin said: “The UK events industry plays a key role in fostering economic growth, supporting vast supply chains and creating opportunities across multiple sectors. However, what has become clear from our recent involvement with MP is that many people still don’t know how important our industry is.

He added: “This new executive committee is well suited to change that. We are committed to deepening our relationship with government, ensuring events are recognized as important economic enablers, and fostering an environment where policymakers are actively involved with the industry to achieve their goals. The next step will focus on sustainable advocacy and strategic engagement, so that the momentum we have built is translated into concrete policy advancements.”
