Brooklynnet ended its seven-game winning streak with an upset victory over the unmanned Los Angeles Lakers.

Cameron Johnson scored 18 points as injured LeBron James was sidelined for Los Angeles. This included a clutch foul line jumper with 59.6 seconds left as Brooklyn Net lost seven games with a 111-108 victory with the Lakers in New York.

Johnson made six of his 14 shots on Monday, but nothing was bigger than the 14 footer, hitting Donsic and leading the net to 106-100.

Johnson’s shot gave Brooklyn a breathing chamber when Don Sic sank a 35-foot-3 pointer from inbound play in 11.5 seconds to take Los Angeles to within 108-106.

Following a three-point play by Nets’ Noah Clowney, Lakers’ Austin Reeves hit a layup with 3.2 seconds left, reducing the gap to three. Johnson then missed two free throws with 2.3 seconds remaining. The game ended when Doncic was short with a hopeless 3-point heave of 77 feet.

Doncic recorded a second triple double as the Laker with 22 points total, 12 rebounds and 12 assists, but was shot 26-8.

Los Angeles struggled most of the last three quarters in their first game since James injured the left gro caliber. Three other Lakers starters – Jackson Hayes, Dorian Finney Smith and Louis Hachimura, did not play against the net due to injuries.

Gabe Vincent won the Lakers’ season high 24. The Lakers scored 43.5% as a team, losing for the second consecutive time. Rookie Dalton Knecht added 19, but Reeves made only three of the 14 out of the field, finishing with 17 points and 10 assists.

Clowney led the net with 19 points, while Keon Johnson finished with 18 points. Tyrese Martin contributed 14, while Nic Claxton earned a chip with 12.

Vincent scored 13 points as the Lakers took a 28-16 lead throughout the opening quarter, and Donsic missed six of his nine shots. The net defeated the Lakers 32-19 in the second, leading a 48-47 lead to halftime after Cameron Johnson hit a three-pointer with 66 seconds left.

Brooklyn took an eight-point lead in the opening four minutes of a third. Following a 12 lead change, the net held the fourth with an 81-79 lead, with Martin sinking a three-pointer with 24 seconds remaining.

The net took a 92-85 lead when Cameron Johnson easily dunked the rest of the seven minutes for a dunk at Don Sic. Three free throws by the Reaves cut the lead to 97-95 with 3:51, but D’Angelo Russell hit a 3 with 91 seconds left, pushing Brooklyn’s lead to 104-98 before Johnson’s Clutch Hoop.
