These are important events on the 1,135th day of the Russian Ukrainian War.
These are important events starting Thursday, April 3rd.
Fineting
The Russian ballistic missile strike killed at least four people and injured 17 people in Krivili, the hometown of Voldy Mieselensky in Ukraine. The attack also caused a fire in the city, said Olexandre Virkul, head of Cliviy Lee’s junta. The Russian drone attack targeted the Ukrainian region of Zaporisia and Kharkiv, killing one person and injuring others, officials said. The area governor said two people were killed, 32 people, including two children, were injured in a Russian drone attack, and crashed into several multistory apartment blocks in Harkiv. One was injured in another drone attack on Ruski Tyshky, a village outside Harkiv. Kiev’s air force said Russia fired 39 drones overnight at Ukraine, 28 of which were shot down. The other seven failed to meet their targets due to electronic warfare measures, according to the Air Force. Russian air defense units have repelled drones approaching Moscow, city mayor Sergei Sovanin said. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused Ukraine of launching more than 30 “provocative” attacks on Russian energy facilities despite mutually agreed moratoriums on strikes against US-mediated energy facilities. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Ukrainian forces have attacked Russian energy facilities four times in the last 24 hours. The Ukrainian army denied the charges and said the troops were stalking to a ceasefire, but claimed that Russia had violated the moratorium “multiple times.” The Russian Ministry of Defense said it controlled two settlements in eastern Ukraine, two settlements, Besere and Robkov. Reuters’ press reports that Russian forces have intensified attacks on Russian western troops and defeated Ukrainian troops in Russia’s Western Kursk region, including hundreds of Ukrainian troops, which are described as the final Ukrainian satisfaction level on Russian territory. Army Christopher Kabli said Ukrainian troops have resolved some of the talent shortages in order to fight Russia, but warned that blocking US weapons to Ukraine is seriously harmful to Kiev’s war efforts. Kabli also said Russia lost more than 4,000 tanks during its war with Ukraine, describing the scale of the war as “awesomeness.”
economy
The 10% mutual tariffs imposed on Ukraine by the US are “hard but not critical,” said Kiev’s economy minister Yulia Swillidenko. She also said that Ukraine had exported $874 million to the US last year, but Kiev had purchased $3.4 billion worth of goods from the US during this period. Russia remains a patient and is not surprised by President Donald Trump’s threat to impose new tariffs on Russian oil, said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Lyabukov, who is responsible for Moscow’s relationship with the US.
Ceasefire
Liabov warned that there may be no peace agreements in the Ukrainian War unless the US recognizes the “belligerent” stance of the European Union and Ukraine. In a meeting with community leaders in the Chernikv region of northern Ukraine, President Zelenki said maintaining the country’s army size will be a top priority in peace negotiations. Zelensky also said that Ukraine would not accept recognition of Russia’s Ukrainian territory as part of Russia. He proposed to find a compromise to return such territory to Ukraine over time through diplomatic means. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andri Sibikha has notified US Secretary of State Marco Rubio of the violation of the Russian US-brokered energy ceasefire.
Politics and diplomacy
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s investment envoy, Kiril Dmitriev, condemned the unidentified forces that were trying to spur tensions between Russia and the United States by “distorting Russia’s position,” and said the talks with the US demonstrated “positive dynamics” between Washington and Russia. Finland President Alexander Stubb said that France, or Britain, as part of a “coalition of will,” should be in charge of engaging with Russia as part of European efforts to support Kiev. The US has withdrawn from a team of European and US investigators compiled under the EU judicial body Eurojust to gather evidence of potential Russian war crimes in Ukraine. The move was inspired by a “change in priorities” within the US Department of Justice, Eurajust said.
