As trucks carrying important supplies load the border with Egypt, hungry children peer into the garbage and watch food.

At least 57 Palestinians have died of starvation in Gaza as Israeli food, water and other critical aid for the besieged enclaves have grown amid relentless bombardment.

The Gaza government media office said on Saturday that most of the victims were not just children, but also sick and elderly, and that they were urging the international community to pressure the international community to resume borders and allow aid.

Gaza has been within the Israeli lockdown since March 2, and the video obtained by Al Jazeera Arabic showing numerous trucks carrying important supplies stacking up the border between Egypt and Gaza Strip on Saturday extends south beyond the city of Alish, located about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from the Rafa border.

The Al Jazeera team identified one of the latest casualties on Saturday. This is a baby girl called Janan Saleha Al Sakafi, who died of malnutrition and dehydration at Lantisi Hospital, west of Gaza. More than 9,000 children have been hospitalized since the beginning of the year to treat acute malnutrition, according to the United Nations.

In a report from Gaza city, Hani Mahmoud of Al Jazeera said he witnessed a heartbreaking scene where children were searching for what they were looking for canned food leftovers. Enclave had reached a “important” point with international organizations from supplies and community kitchens, where they were unable to prepare meals for the displaced people.

“Finding a single meal has become an impossible quest,” Gaza city displaced Ahmad al-Nazar told Al Jazeera. “The people here witnessed a charity after they declared they were out of supplies. They are closing their businesses because they are not in a position to provide the relief they need to the population.”

“It’s frustrating and infuriating to have a truck stacked on the other side of the fence.

Hospitals face a “acute shortage”

Suhive Al Hams, director of Kuwait Hospital in Rafa, said that medical services have experienced “acute shortages in over 75% of essential medicines” and only have supplies left for about a week.

He warned that most of Enclave’s health services will be suspended without “immediate intervention” to reopen boundaries and allow medical and humanitarian assistance. He added that patients who “dye slowly every day without treatment” need to be evacuated urgently.

The ongoing blockade is the longest closure as Israeli forces continue to attack the territory, killing at least 70 Palestinians, wounding 275 people in two days, continuing to attack the territory, and Israeli forces continue to attack the territory, according to the Ministry of Health.

Two women were killed in an Israeli air raid on Saturday at a home in the town of Al Fahari near the southern city of Gaza Khan Yunis, according to an Al Jazeera Arabic report.

Separately, a fisherman was killed and another was injured in an Israeli navy attack off the coast of Gaza city.

Later that day, two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone attack on the Almawasi region of southern Gaza, once an Israeli-designated “safe zone.”

Israel’s war with Gaza has killed at least 52,495 people and injured 118,366 people, according to the Ministry of Health. It is estimated that thousands more have died under the roof tile rub.
