The attacks claimed by Houthis temporarily halt air traffic at Israel’s busiest airport, causing air raid sirens.

The ballistic missile launched from Yemen crashed into the vicinity of Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport, damaging roads and vehicles, halting air traffic, and has been verified by Al Jazeera, according to photos and footage.

Israeli forces confirmed that its defense system did not fire down the projectile on Sunday morning despite several attempts to intercept it, adding that an investigation is ongoing. Eight people were injured, according to paramedics.

Yemeni Hooti rebels have been attacking Israel against war and blockade in the Gaza Strip, but have argued for blame for missiles launched at Israel’s busiest airport. At least 52,495 people have been killed in Israel’s attacks on Gaza for more than 18 months, Palestinian officials say.

In a statement on television, Houthi Army spokesman Yahya Saree warned the airline that Ben Gurion Airport is “no longer safe for air travel.”

The attack led to a brief halt of flights at airports in central Israel, with some having to be redirected. All entrances to the airport were also temporarily closed, and train journeys to the trains have been suspended.

According to Israeli media, sirens covered central Israel and urged many people to move to shelters.

Videos from the shock site circulating online show the missile crashed into a connecting road within the airport boundary, where several debris are scattered across adjacent roads.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened serious retaliation. “Anyone who attacks us, we will return seven times,” Katz said in a clear reference to the Torah in relation to severe punishment, or to God’s justice.

Benny Gantz, a leader of Israel’s Resilience Party and a former member of the war cabinet, said Tehran should be responsible for missile attacks by groups alongside Iran.

“It’s Iran that is launching ballistic missiles in Israel and they have to be held responsible,” he said in a social media post without providing evidence. “The shootings in Israel must lead to a serious response in Tehran.”

Yair Golan, a leading opposition figure, said millions of Israelis were in shelters again. Israeli prisoners of war in Gaza are almost dying. Prisoner.

“This is a big thing for Netanyahu. This is a big thing for the government,” Golan said of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “We must bring the tempted people back home and end the war.”

The Houthi attack continues despite daily bombings of areas across Yemen by US forces. Houthi-Run Media reported more US Air Force raids in Yemen early on Sunday.

According to Al Masirah TV, US Warplanes launched 10 attacks in Al Hazm district of Al Joh Province and three attacks on the governor of Malibu.

It was not immediately clear whether there were any casualties this week, including one of the immigration detention centers that killed dozens of people.
