The Russian attacks on the Donetsk and Smie regions of eastern Ukraine killed at least three people on Monday, Ukrainian authorities said. Two women were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on a vehicle in the Kursk region of Russia, Gov. Alexander Kinstein said in a Telegram post.
He said that a 53-year-old man was also killed when the explosive device was dropped into his car. The Russian military smashed 105 Ukrainian drones overnight, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, reported Ria Novosti News Agency. Moscow mayor Sergei Sobianin said that the capital was targeted for the second consecutive time, causing at least 19 Ukrainian drones to be destroyed, prompting the closure of all airports for several hours. There were no reports of casualties. Russian forces destroyed at least 18 drones in the Bolognez region of the southwest and 10 drones in the South Pena region, according to regional authorities. The Ukrainian forces attacked the distribution of power in Russia’s Kursk, the regional governor said. Russian state television war correspondent Alexander Sladkov and many Russian war bloggers have reported a new Ukrainian land invasion of Kursk, supported by armored vehicles. Kyiv did not comment on reported progress.

The European Union is scheduled to release its “roadmap” on Tuesday on how to end Russia’s dependence on fossil fuels by 2027.
