HSBC has cancelled the 2025 UK Corporate & Investor Conference in May (the exact date has not been published).
The event was one of HSBC’s leading forums to attract UK business leaders, analysts and investors.
HSBC has closed its European M&A and equity capital markets teams, and this recent cancellation comes as part of that shift. Banks are restructuring their investment banking sector to focus more on their operations in Asia.
Cancelled meetings typically featured sector briefings and market outlook. Additionally, British companies were able to meet HSBC’s research team and pitch them to potential investors.
HSBC has not confirmed whether events will be returned in 2026. No virtual or exchange formats have been announced.
Cancel removes key networking fixtures from the UK Investor Relations calendar. It also shows a reduction in the domestic role of HSBC’s investment banking sector in the UK.
The move follows other cuts by banks, including cuts in European trading operations. HSBC continues to reduce its exposure to the western market and is working with the bank’s long-term pivots into Asia.
HSBC’s annual meeting will be held at Intercontinental London O2, but the Corporate & Investor Conference venue has not been disclosed.
There have been no comments published by HSBC regarding the cancellation.
