Anysphere, the maker of AI coding assistant cursors, raised $900 million at a valuation of $9.9 billion, Bloomberg reported. The round was led by returning investor Thrive Capital with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Accel and DST Global.

The large round is Anysphere’s third funding. The three-year-old startup secured $100 million in capital operations at the end of last year with a $2.5 billion pre-money valuation, as first reported by TechCrunch.

Often called “vibe codermators,” AI coding assistants have emerged as one of AI’s most popular applications, with Cursor leading the category. Anysphere’s annual revenue (ARR) doubles approximately every two months. The company is above $500 million, sources told Bloomberg.

Cursors provide developers with hierarchical pricing. After a two-week free trial, the company converts users into paid customers. Users can choose to offer $20 Pro Offering or $40 per month business subscription.

Until recently, the majority of the company’s revenue came from individual user subscriptions, Bloomberg reported. However, AnySphere currently offers an enterprise license, allowing businesses to purchase their teams’ applications at a higher price.

Earlier this year, the company was approached by Openai and other potential buyers, but Anysphere declined those offers. The ChatGpt maker bought Windsurf, another fast-growing AI assistant, for $3 billion.
