Michigan settles for $30 million with three survivors of the 2023 massive shooting

East Lansing, Michigan (AP) — Michigan State University has reached a settlement worth about $30 million with three surviving students Mass shooting In 2023, the lawyer said Tuesday.

Three students were killed and five more injured when a man with no school connection fired a shot inside two buildings.

Michigan has agreed to a $14.2 million settlement with Nathan Statley. Yukai “John” Hao and $13 million. $2.5 million with Troy Forbush, according to lawyers for Growal Law and Gruel Mills Nims & Pylman.

“The university cannot comment on any particular settlement, but we really hope that reaching a solution will help provide some degree of relief, support and care to the affected individuals and their families,” Michigan said.

Statistics were shot in the head, Hao was paralyzed after being shot in the back, and Forbush was shot in the chest.

Three students were killed: Brian Fraser, Ariel Anderson, Alexandria Burner. Their family reached Michigan and settlements Late 2023.

Gunman Anthony McRae, 43, committed suicide after facing police about four miles (6 kilometers) from the East Lansing campus.
