Last Friday, AI Startup Openai has submitted a new application to the US Patent Trading Agency (USPTO) to trademark products related to the brand. Usually, this is not worth the press. Companies always submit trademarks. However, in the application, Openai suggests both the close period and the more speculative nature.
For example, filing lists hardware that contains headphones, goggles, glasses, remote, laptops and telephone cases, smartwatch, smart jewelry, virtual and expansion reality headset.
Last year, Openai confirmed that he was cooperating with his former Apple Designer Jony Ive in a hardware project, and Sam Altman, a startup CEO, on Sunday, Openai, and Openai has AI through a partnership with multiple companies. I confirmed that I wanted to develop the installed consumer hardware. 。 However, in the same interview, Altman warned that it would take several years to complete a prototype AI device.
Openai trademark applications also mention robots, especially “humanoid robots that can be used by user programs,” and “humanoid robots with communication and learning functions to support and entertain people.”
Openai has recently started using a new robot team led by Caitlin Kalinowski. Caitlinkalinowski participated in a startup last November to lead the hardware from the Meta AR glasses section. According to information lists and information, Openai aims to test a custom sensor that can be operated in human -like intelligence and a robot equipped with AI in the real world settings.
Openai also mentions custom AI chips and services to “use quantum computing resources to optimize AI model performance.”
It has long been rumored that Openai has created a custom chips to execute the AI model. The company has a division focusing on a joint design chip component. The report suggests Openai’s purpose in 2026, along with the semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom and TSMC, to provide custom chips to the market.
Openai quantum computing plan -assuming that it is set as a stone, it is cloudy. However, last year, the startup added a former Quantum Systems Architect of Quantum Computing Startup PSIQUANTUM to the technical team.
As the registration book has been pointed out in the March article, Quantum Computing can significantly improve the efficiency of AI model training with the ability to perform a huge number of calculations at the same time. Perhaps Openai is looking at the future in the training of hardware models, which are very different from the machines they depend on today, as the computing costs of AI do not show any signs.
Again, trademark applications are often intentionally widespread and not necessarily indicating corporate roadmaps. Openai may have revealed the domain exploring the startup.
