According to a statement from the Palestinian Group, Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo to discuss the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement with mediators.

Last month, a fragile agreement between Hamas and Israel appeared to be strained on Wednesday, saying Hamas would not succumb to the threat from Israeli new fighting and the massive displacement of the Palestinians.

Egyptian and Qatar mediators were working to save the contract, according to state-run Al-Kahera News TV, which is close to the country’s security agencies.

Hamas warned that it would delay the next release of Israeli prisoners scheduled for Saturday, with Israel violating the ceasefire by firing Gaza people, tents, shelters and other important entities to enter the territory He said he would not allow the number of assistance.

“The occupation must implement the terms of the ceasefire contract until prisoners are released. Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for Hamas, said in a statement Wednesday that the occupation will comply with agreed humanitarian protocols. It’s necessary for this.”

Since the ceasefire came into effect on January 19, the Israeli fire has killed at least 92 Palestinians and injured more than 800 others, said Munir Al-Barsh, director of the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

In the latest violence, a 44-year-old man was killed and another man was injured in an Israeli strike in a city in southern Rafa. Israeli forces said they would only fire on people who approach their forces or enter certain areas in violation of a ceasefire.

The threat of reopened combat

On his side, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the support of President Donald Trump, warned that Israel would resume fighting if prisoners were not released on Saturday.

Trump threatened that “all hell” would break out if Hamas did not release the remaining Israeli prisoners of war in Gaza by Saturday.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz repeated the phrase in his X post on Wednesday, saying that if Hamas doesn’t release Israeli prisoners by Saturday, “The gates of hell will be opened to them, as the US President has promised. “He said.

“The new Gaza War is of different strength than before the ceasefire and will not end without Hamas’ defeat and the release of all hostages,” he writes.

A report from Amman, Jordan, Al Jazeera’s Hamda Sulf said Israeli forces are discussing plans for a new attack.

“However, some sources who spoke to Israeli Army Radio have said that military action to save prisoners of war from Gaza is “nearly impossible” because Hamas is still very active,” Sulf said. Ta.

The International Commission on the Red Cross was also overwhelmed on Wednesday, warning that “any reversal” of the agreement “will risk putting people in the misery and despair that defined the last 16 months.”

To date, at least 48,222 Palestinians have been confirmed to have been killed throughout the Israeli war in Gaza. At least 1,139 people were killed and more than 200 were taken prisoner in a Hamas-led attack in Israel on October 7, 2023.

The enclave remains on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe, with the majority of its inhabitants evacuated and its infrastructure was destroyed during the war.

“Palestinians cannot move.”

In his post Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Katz also pointed to Trump’s plans for the US to “take over and replace Gaza people forever.”

He said the new Israeli attacks “also allow Trump’s vision to be realized on Gaza.”

Trump has pledged to put pressure on both Jordan and Egypt to accept Palestinians who have been forced to evacuate. Both countries refused.

On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fatta El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan, according to a statement from Egyptian President, the immediate beginning of Gaza’s reconstruction “without the relocation of Palestinians from Palestinian lands.” He emphasized the importance of the

The leaders also “showed their sharpness” to work with Trump to achieve “permanent peace” in the region through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, the statement said.

It came the day after Abdullah met Trump at the White House.

Speaking to Al Jazeera on Wednesday, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said again that the kingdom was not against Trump’s proposal.

“There is a constant, fixed and immovable Jordanian position. Palestinians cannot be transferred to Egypt, Jordan or Arab states,” Safadi said.

Palestinian authority and Arab countries are all united in opposition to Trump’s plans.

On Wednesday, Hamas called for massive demonstrations around the world “in opposition to displacement and forced deportation plans.”
