Barcelona recovered a three-point advantage over Real Madrid at the top of Lariga, earning a 4-1 home victory over Girona.
Barcelona hit visitors Girona 4-1 in the Catalan football derby after Robert Lewandowski scored the net twice in the second half, beating Leagens 3-2, 3-2 on Hansi Frick’s 3-2 side-point at Lariga’s top.
Sunday’s victory came from 66 points from 29 games as 36-year-old Lewandowski (36-year-old Lewandowski, who scored twice after the score tied 1-1, was extended to 25 goals at the top of Lariga’s scoring chart, with the three extending Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe to 25 goals.
“I know a lot of people talk about their age, but I’m working hard like I did when I was 21 and want to play for more seasons,” Lewandowski said with a smile.
“At this point, I feel physically better. Looking at the numbers, they’re the same as usual.”

Barcelona dominated the opening phase as expected as Fermin Lopez and Lewandowski tested Paulo Gazaniga with Girona’s goal in two early shots.
After a while, Lopez fell to the edge of the box and the judge awarded a free kick. However, when Val asked him to review the potential penalty decision, he greatly gave Girona a free kick to the Barcelona player’s shock.
Gilles Kaunde did not acknowledge his goal when Girona wandered offside, as he had no answer to Barca’s advance to the box. However, Gazaniga stood strong in denying home side time many times, making four important saves in the first half alone.
The Argentinean keeper could only stand and see Yamal’s free kick scored his own goal two minutes before Girona defender Ladislav Krezic.
Girona opposed the run of play when he acquired the ball midfield after the run of play, and Dutch forward Arnaut Danjuma curled the shot past Warjchech Shuzesny in goal.
Barcelona did not panic, regaining the lead just after the time mark as Lopez was facing the ball across the box, and Lewandowski converted with an acrobatic finish at the far post.

Lewandowski then went 3-1 in 77 minutes from the counterattack when Frenkie de Jong found him in the box and the Polish striker curled a low shot past Gazzaniga.
Alternate Phelan Torres went 4-1 when he skillfully controlled a pass from the wing with a sublime first touch before finding the bottom corner. Yamal then went almost five, but only saw his curling shot cannon from the crossbar.
“It’s very clear to see that when they had the ball this afternoon it wasn’t easy for us. We knew we were going to stand up to a great team,” Danjuma said of Barcelona.
“After scoring, I thought I could take something out of the game, so I could put a little more pressure on them. But they got second and third… and it got very difficult.”
