First Conference News Creative Leaders Summit With the rapid approach of the summit, Conference News spoke to some speakers and panelists about upcoming sessions, the importance of bringing together creative leaders, and the biggest challenges facing creative leaders today.

The summit will be held at De Vere Horsley Estate on June 11th and 12th to bring together senior creative figures from the agency community, discuss challenges, share best practices and bring together senior creative figures from the agency community as they deliver creative vision for an immersive live and brand experience. For more information about the summit, click here.

In this interview, we will talk to Gavin Farley, CEO of ASEMBL. Farley speaks on the first day of the summit on a panel entitled “Decent Proposal: The Art of Winning an RFP.” He speaks with Tobeerisu, CEO of the live group, Event Manager at Société Generale and Aras de Amoor, co-founder and director of Intrepid Collective. The panel describes what sets the pitch apart and wins, bringing it to the table on both sides of the RFP process.

What made you say yes to speaking at the Creative Leader Summit?

I was a bit jealous that when I went to an event before, others were sitting on the panel. I asked most of the questions and wanted to see something like that in other ways.

Why do you think it’s important for creative leaders in our industry to come together now?

There’s so much noise at the moment, and it seems that people are caught up in about 100 different conversations about things. The foundations of business remain the same, but so are many others. This event should be a great place to connect with others in the industry, talk openly about what’s going on, and share the ups and downs, but most importantly, you should be with the same boat community.

Take a peek at what your session has to offer.

I really don’t know what to be honest! I know what I’m doing and what we do as a business. That’s all I have to mention. So it will pull it into our successes, our failures, and how we as a group think about how we do things. It may not be for others, but I never know.

What are the important ideas and takeaways that people hope to leave your session?
Simplicity is the key to success. It doesn’t always get bigger and look at what you have before you think you wish there was something else. I know it’s three things, but one might land. Make who you are real.

Who are your sessions targeting and why should they come together?
Someone who wants to listen honestly. I’ve been in the industry for nearly 30 years, building an ok business, doing a lot of cool things, learning a lot, ruining a lot, learning myself. Anyone who is on a similar journey or wants to start a journey is happy to be able to listen and engage.

How did you land on the topic you are talking about? Was it driven by personal experience and industry trends?
As mentioned above, the panels, the hosts, the questions, this is actually the point so I don’t know what I’m talking about.

In your view, what are the biggest challenges faced by creative leaders today?
Stay true to you, your team, your culture and the business spirit you are building. It’s easy to distract you, but not everything is shiny.

How do you maintain your creative edge in a fast-paced industry like ours?
By surrounding myself with people who are more creative than me! I’m interested and annoying, and I always want to learn and see what else is going on. You need to know who is doing what, look at other sectors outside of the industry, see what they are doing. There is a habit in this industry that we say is creative, but in reality it is not.

What advice would you give to the next generation of creative leaders?
Keep doing that, what are you waiting for? Do you, do you? Absorb everything and dress yourself in the best rides for your journey. Don’t forget that you can swap cars, encourage and surround yourself with the best people and those who want you to succeed.
