The opener scored 46-107 as the Pakistan Chase 197, with seven wickets in hand and 16 balls in a 3-0 series victory.

A meaningless century from Mohammad Harris led Pakistan’s 197-run pursuit, winning the third T20 international cricket match against Bangladesh, achieving a 3-0 series victory in Lahore.

Pakistan first sought a blow in Sunday’s third match at Gaddafi Stadium in Pakistan’s eastern metropolis after winning the first two matches after picking bowling first.

Given the tricky target of 197, Pakistan lost Sabzadafahan, the best scorer in the second T20I, to Medee Hasan Millers.

Old Pakistan may have collapsed under pressure to lose a simple wicket, but the new side under young captain Salman Aga and newly appointed Mike Hesson maintained the scoring rate.

Saim Ayub and Haris formed a 92-run partnership to take on the Bangladesh bowling attack and maintain a high scoring rate and keep their targets in sight.

Ayub was fired on the 10th by Tanjim Hasansakib after getting 45 runs from 29 balls, but by then Harris took on the role of main hitter and continued his big shots.

The wicketkeeper batter hit seven sixes and eight fours with 46 balls 107, keeping Bangladesh out of contest for most of Pakistan’s innings.

He embraced the match-winning player and said he was working hard despite not working well with Pakistan in the recent past, so he was all smiling.

“I tried to learn from my mistakes, but I didn’t want to waste this opportunity I played in this series,” he said.

Harris hit with the simple plan of “see the ball and play the ball,” but added that he didn’t want to play unnecessary shots.

Previously, the Bangladeshi innings were quickly launched by Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan, who overwhelmed Pakistani opening bowlers Ayub and Faheem Ashraf.

They set up the opening stand for the 110, but the Bangladeshi batting lineup derailed shortly after Tanjid left for the 11th time.

Despite starting from Captain Litton Das (22 runs) and Towhid Fridoy (25 runs), the Tigers were unable to maintain the scoring rate set by the opener.

A total of 196-6 in 20 overs guaranteed that the home team would face some pressure when they came out on the bat, but the Pakistani array of offensive batters ignored the pressure on the scoreboard and brought the team home with 16 balls.

Pakistan’s captain Salman was on the pitch with Harris when the winning run was scored, but said he was pleased with the consistency of the team.

“We want to test ourselves where things get tough, and we wanted to chase after the boys’ pressure,” Salman explained after the match.

The 3-0 series sweep was Pakistan’s first since 2021.
