The Detroit Pistons lose their winning streak in an NBA-Record, 15-game postseason, in a road victory over the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference playoff series.

The Detroit Pistons leveled the first round of the Eastern Conference series in one game with a 15-game playoff loss win streak over the New York Knicks 100-94 win.

Detroit’s Cade Cunningham scored 33 points and 12 rebounds, while Dennis Schroeder added 20 points from the bench.

The Pistons notched their first playoff victory since Game 4 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals in the playoffs for the first time since 2019, and their first playoff victory since Game 4 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals.

Two days after the Knicks wrote a 21-0 score, they scored a rally in Game 1, and the Pistons were pushed into the finish in a fast-paced physical encounter at Madison Square Garden.

They led up to 15 people in the third quarter, but the Knicks reduced the deficit to eight in the final period.

New York star Jalen Branson scored 14 of 37 points in fourth, giving Josh Hart a dunk, playing 94-94 at 1:15.

However, Schroeder responded quickly, excavating a 3-pointer that would permanently place the piston ahead.

The Knicks were empty with three straight possessions, and Schroeder and Jalen Duren connected on a free throw line, sealing Detroit’s victory.

Detroit’s Tobias Harris scored 15 points, pulling down 13 rebounds, while Duren had 12 points and 13 boards.

Mikal Bridge scored 19 for the Knicks as Karl Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby remained at 10.

“We did what we had to do, that was all,” Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff said. “Winning the game on the road to get home court was something we came here.

“So we approached it the other night with the business mentality we learned from the fourth quarter. But we did what we had to do.”

Leonard rules the nuggets

Kawi Leonard scored 39 points in 15 of 19 shootings as the visiting Los Angeles Clippers beat the Denver Nuggets 105-102 on Monday, leveling out the first round of the Western Conference playoff series with one victory.

Denver’s Christian Brown and Nikola Jokic missed a three-point attempt to end the game. The Jokic was wound up in a triple double.

James Harden added 18 points, Ivica Zubac contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Norman Powell scored 13 points in Los Angeles.

Leonard, 33, bounced off his seven turnover performance at the opener Saturday, winning 112-110 Denver in overtime. He hit his first six shots on Monday, missing a pull-up jumper early in the second quarter and didn’t miss it again until early in the fourth.

“A tough fight,” Leonard said after the match on TNT. “This is what the playoffs are about.”

The Best Seven Series will move to California for Game 3 at Inglewood on Thursday.
