The US government warned of cyberattacks acquired by pro-Iranian groups after launching airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites as part of the Iranian-Israel war that began on June 13, 2025.

Saying that the ongoing conflict has created a “strengthening of the threat environment” within the country, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says it is likely that cyber actors will target US networks.

“There is a high possibility of low-level cyberattacks on the US network by Iranian hacktivists, and cyberactors affiliated with the Iranian government could attack the US network,” DHS said.

“Both Hattitivisists and actors affiliated with the Iranian government are routinely targeting well-secured US networks and internet-connected devices due to destructive cyberattacks.”

Cybersecurity

The development comes after the US military announced that it had bombed three nuclear facilities in Iran in Ford, Natanz and Isfahan. Trump described the strike as an “epical military success” and warned of a “much larger” attack if Tehran does not reconcile.

The 2025 Iran-Israel war caused a maelstrom in cyberspace. This is along with a group of Hattivist who are consistent with two countries targeting other countries.

In response to the US military strike, a pro-Iranian group named Team 313 claimed to have defeated Trump’s true social platform in a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack.
