Williams of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund said it exceeded all expectations of the opportunities HBCU has offered to underrepresented students. He thanked the administration for its support, but when asked about its actions towards diversity initiatives, he said he was challenging the administration.
“Efforts are rewarded, education is rewarded, so these institutions are very important to this country,” he said. “I am pleased to know that the reality of the other challenges we are addressing with regard to what the administration is now related to priorities is that we know that these agencies continue to do so on a very deliberate basis with the importance of what they have done for the nation.”
