ThreatSpike, a quietly built cybersecurity startup for over a decade, has raised $14 million in Series A funding. The round is led by Expedition Growth Capital and marks the company’s first institutional investment after 14 years of personal funding.
The UK-based company offers an all-in-one cybersecurity platform designed to replace the patchwork of expensive, difficult-to-manage tools that many companies rely on today. As part of the agreement, Expedition partner Will Sheldon and Darktrace co-founder Emily Orton are on the ThreatSpike board of directors.

ThreatSpike was founded in 2011 by Adam and Kate Blake, a marital team of computer scientists with software and cybersecurity backgrounds. Both previously worked on cybersecurity programs at major financial institutions. Since then, they have grown the company profitably without external capital through customer referrals and steady demand.
“We have founded a threat to first-hand witnessing that achieving high-quality cybersecurity protection is extremely complicated and expensive,” said CEO and founder Adam Blake. “A market filled with three-letter acronym products and aggressive upsells, we take a different approach, so customer security is at the heart of our core.”
Today, ThreatSpike serves more than 200 clients in 90 countries, including hospitality, industry, investment management and professional services companies.

Emily Orton, who built Darktrace into a billion-dollar business, has called him an “impressive tech entrepreneur” called Adam and Kate, and said he is excited to help him grow his company in the next chapter.
Fresh capital is directed towards international growth and employment across engineering, security operations and sales. ThreatSpike accelerates the development of two core products: ThreatSpike Blue, which offers 24/7 managed detection and response, and ThreatSpike Red, which offers unlimited penetration testing.
Long-time customer Inchcape Shipping Services praised the company’s track record. “From the beginning, ThreatSpike has instilled a strong sense of trust and confidence within the team,” said Lee Scott, Inchcape’s cybersecurity director. “They have been continually providing their commitment to deliver innovative and reliable solutions.”
ThreatSpike says the platform handles billions of events every day and supports hundreds of thousands of users. It combines automation with practical monitoring by security analysts and RedTeam Ahe. This is a mix that claims to set it apart in a noisy market.
