The majority of apples (95 percent) and oranges (80 percent) are grown domestically, but in the US, especially in Washington, California and Florida, tropical fruits like bananas (1 percent domestically grown), pineapples (10 percent), and avocados (10 percent) are imported primarily from countries like Eclador, Costanica and Mexico.

Similarly, the majority of common vegetables, including corn (99%), potatoes (95%), pumpkin (95%) and beans (80%), are produced primarily in states, especially Iowa, Idaho, Illinois and Nebraska.

These states are well known for their widespread agricultural production, as Iowa and Illinois lead the production of corn and soybeans, and Idaho excels in potatoes. In contrast, only a third of tomatoes consumed in the US are produced domestically, with the majority coming from Mexico.

Staples

Staple items such as rice (80-90 percent), wheat (90 percent), and sugar (70 percent) are mainly produced in the US, while some rice and special grains are imported.

Meat, especially beef (90%) and poultry (95%), is primarily grown in the United States, particularly in Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, Georgia and Arkansas, and is known for its large-scale livestock farming business. Eggs (95%) and cheese (95%) are also produced primarily in the United States.

Seafood production in the US is a mixture of wild breeding and agriculture, with at least two-thirds of seafood being consumed and imported from countries such as China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Canada.

Because the climate is not suitable for large-scale cultivation, only about 1% of the tea and coffee consumed in the US is produced domestically. Coffee is mainly imported from Brazil, Colombia, Vietnam and Ethiopia, while tea comes from China, India, Sri Lanka and Kenya.

The majority (90%) of soda is produced domestically. Large companies such as Coca-Cola, Pepsico and Keurig Dr Pepper dominate the US market, with numerous manufacturing facilities nationwide.

Moving into the living room, most of the items, especially household appliances and appliances, are imported.
