Olympia Events, managed by ASM Global and Legends, has appointed Gareth Lloyd as the venue’s new Director of Business Development, strengthening its senior leadership team and strategic commercial delivery.

In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the commercial growth of the venue and identifying tactical opportunities within its overall business strategy.

The appointment supports the business before the £1.3 billion regeneration begins in the second half of 2025.

Lloyd has over 26 years of experience in the live entertainment, sports and events industries. He served as Head of Partnerships for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and previously served as Head of Commercial Media for the NEC Group, where he oversaw media sales, partnership sales and group partnership management functions.

“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the process of doing things,” said Andio Sullivan, CEO of Olympia Events. “Gareth is primarily responsible for not only complementing our existing lineup, but also ensuring new and exciting events that strengthen and diversify our calendars, supporting our business’s growth goals to continue to establish ourselves as a well-known cultural destination.”
