Israeli forces say they have intercepted missiles after activating air raid sirens in several parts of the country.

Israeli forces say they have intercepted missiles fired from Yemen as the US launched fierce military operations within the country, targeting locations held primarily by Houthi rebels.

Air raid sirens were activated in several parts of Israel on Sunday after the missile was launched from Yemen.

Iran-backed groups have regularly fired missiles in Israel since the outbreak of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023. The rebels, which subsequently targeted shipping ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, say they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians.

Houthis suspended its campaign during a few weeks of armistice in Gaza, which ended on March 18th, when Israel resumed artillery fires on Palestinian territory.

On Thursday, Israel announced that it had intercepted two missiles from Yemen before it crossed over to its territory.

Houthis, which has yet to respond to the latest Israeli claims of missile attacks, said on Thursday it fired two missiles, including one hypersensitivity projectile, at unspecified military targets in Israel’s main air gateway, Ben-Gurion Airport and Tel Aviv region.

More Our Strikes

On March 15, the US launched an airstrike campaign against Yemen. Washington once said it was to protect the world’s transportation routes and kill dozens of people.

Air Strikes slammed Yemen overnight on Saturday, and reportedly killed at least one person after US troops previously bombed the military site in the heart of the capital Sanaa, admitting it was controlled by the Houtis.

On Friday, Al Masria television in Yemen reported that US aviation south of Sanaa is located in the provinces of Sada and Jof in the north. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health said seven people were injured, including two children.

A day ago, Houthis said our strike killed two people and injured two.

In response, Houthis said it targeted “warships in the Red Sea, including American aircraft carriers.” [USS Harry S] Truman.”

The US has denounced Iran for the attacks that Yemeni groups take on.
