The Super Bowl Halftime Show has always been a major part of the annual NFL event and is the most viewed music performance in the United States this year.

Watch Sunday’s halftime show during a match between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Who is playing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2025?

Kendrick Lamar performs the halftime show. He has won 22 Grammy Awards throughout his career. This includes five songs of the year, “Not like Us.”

Lamar is the first solo rapper in the headlines of the halftime show.

The 37-year-old performed at the Super Bowl 2022 alongside Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J Blige. This was the first halftime show that focused entirely on hip-hop music.

Lamar, who began freestyle and battle rap at school, released her debut studio album, Section 80 in 2011. Over the next three years, the album sold 130,000 copies in the US.

Lamar has released five more studio albums and, together with other records, sells more than 17.9 million album equivalent units worldwide. He achieved five number one singles in the US.

What can you expect from Kendrick Lamar’s performance?

At a press conference hosted by Apple Music, Lemer said he remained true to his storytelling roots during his halftime performance.

“Storytelling. I think I’ve always been very open about storytelling through all the catalogues and musical history, and I’ve always been passionate about bringing it at any stage.”

Singer-songwriter SZA will be taking part in Lamar as a special guest. The event will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, who has been directing the Halftime Show since 2010.

However, few other details about the performance have been revealed, and the headliners succumbed to a tradition in which the plan is kept secret.

Apple Music, The Music, Audio, and Video Streaming Service of Apple Inc are sponsors of this year’s halftime performance.

The company took over sponsorship when Rihanna appeared in 2023, replacing Pepsi, which has been a sponsor since 2013.

Where can I watch the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

The Super Bowl is scheduled to kick off Sunday, February 9th at 6:30pm (23:30 GMT). .

The event will be broadcast live on Fox, Fox Deportes and streamed on Tubi.

The history of the Super Bowl Halftime Show

Initially, the show mainly featured university marching bands, but progressed before moving on to teams and performance ensemble drills, but in 1991 the New Kids of the Brock Boys’ Band was a headline act Sometimes it changed.

The rest of the 90s included artists such as Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and Gloria Estefan.

At the turn of the century, many different acts were performed together. In 2000, Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias and Toni Braxton appeared, and the following year Aerosmith and NSYNC joined together.

U2 replaced Janet Jackson in 2002, with the band paying tribute to the victims of the 9/11 attack.

Jackson will have her chance in 2004. There, her performance sparked controversy due to the infamous “wardrobe malfunction.” The incident will bring about change over the next few years, playing mainly mainstream rock acts, including Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Prince and Bruce Springsteen.

In 2011, contemporary artists won the act of headlines in previous formats and many guests.

Since then, Madonna, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Doctor and Eminem have all performed on the show.
