Development has been one of the Army’s most important advances since the outbreak of war between the Secretary of the Army and the RSF.

The Sudanese army says it has regained almost all control of northern Khartoum to intensify its attack aimed at regaining full control of the capital from the paramilitary swift support forces (RSF).

The Army has acquired a massive belt in the capital and surrounding areas in recent weeks in the war with the RSF since April 2023.

On Saturday, the military said it had recaptured Kafoli, a major district north of Khartoum, after pushing RSF into the outskirts of the city, also known as Bari.

The wealthy district of Greaterhartoum is a key foundation for paramilitary groups, a residential property associated with senior RSF leaders, including brother and vice-facilitator Abdel Rahim Dagro, of RSF Commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagro. did.

On Friday, Sudanese troops announced that they had regained control of Abukta in northwestern Gezilla province from the RSF.

In a statement, military spokesman Nabil Abdullah said on Friday that the Army Army and its allies had “remains of the Dagro terrorist militia” from Kafoli and other regions, 15km (9 miles) east of Sharqueernir. He said he pushed it out.

On Thursday, military sources told AFP news agency that the army was moving towards the centre of Khartoum, with witnesses reporting the clash there and the explosion south of the capital.

With new advances, the Army has secured all the cities and towns in Gezilla. However, except for the north and surrounding villages, it is located 50 km (31 miles) north of Khartoum.

This development marks one of the most important advances in the Army as a war broke out between the Army’s Abdel Fatta Al Burhan and his former RSF.

The fear of retribution

But as the battles rage in the capital, Amnesty International raised concerns on Friday about potential retaliation in the area that was recently recaptured by the Army.

Rights groups cited reports on the distribution of lists targeting activists, human rights advocates, and medical and humanitarian workers accused of being “partners of the RSF.”

At South Belt, a neighbor to Khartoum, the RSF on Saturday detained two members of a local volunteer rescue group at Gunpoint at Bashair Hospital, the area’s last partially functional facility, the group said in a statement.

Local rescuers reportedly on Thursday, RSF reportedly detained the manager of Bashair Hospital and the head of the soup kitchen and volunteers.

Last week, the UN Human Rights Office recorded the deaths of at least 18 civilians in northern Khartoum since the army began advancing there in late January.

Last month, a massive execution of civilians was reported following the acquisition of the army of Wad Madani, the capital of Gezilla.

Human rights groups have accused the Army and Allied militia of extrajudicial killings, tricks, physical and psychological torture, targeting communities with particularly suspected RSF ties.

According to the United Nations and local governments, the Army and RSF have been fighting a war that has killed more than 20,000 people and expelled 14 million people since mid-April 2023.
